I believe this simple recipe is a fine example of how Aussie chefs approach food, we’re more likely to highlight fresh ingredients and uncomplicated our recipes. It’s the Less is More theory ! with a focus on in-season ingredients the perfect Avocado toast doesn’t come with superfood spices, mushrooms powders, flowers, and bacon powder! It consists of simple real ingredients assembled fresh with the intention of highlighting and paying homage to natural flavours.
Do’s and Donts when making avocado toast
Do use a ripe avocado
Do use freshly squeezed lemon
Please Do season your avocado toast with sea salt and pepper
Don’t use fake wonder white sugary bread! always use naturally fermented sourdough
Don’t make avocado pure ahead of time
Don’t make guacamole, Do keep your Avocado chunky
Seasonal salad (optional)
1 Slice Sourdough Toast
5 Radishes, sliced fine
7 leaves of basil, washed
6 cherry tomatoes, quartered
In a bowl mix your radish, basil and tomato with olive oil, salt and pepper.
In a separate bowl, smash your avocado, season with salt, pepper and a generous amount of lemon juice.
Toast your sourdough, add two tablespoons of avocado onto of your warm bread, top with your tomato salad and enjoy
