Serves 2-4

Ingredients

  • 2 firm pears
  • 250ml water
  • 250ml honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 clove

Method

  1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
  2. Meanwhile, peel pears and chop top and bottom of pear off and discard. Chop pears into quarters.
  3. Add pears to syrup. Pop on lid and simmer on a medium to low heat for about 20-25 minutes, or until tender.
  4. Cool pears in syrup.
